ANNEW Pledge for Leaders in Public Service
The ANNEW Pledge is an important Declaration for that aims to encourage Leaders in Public Service to end gender inequality with concrete commitments, establish actionable plans to empower women and girls and proactively amplify women's voices across all domains.
I recognize that effective implementation and enforcement of laws promoting gender equality can be a powerful force for the empowerment of women and girls, and I will do everything in my
capacity to encourage appropriate monitoring of these laws, to ensure that they are non-discriminatory.
I understand the importance of meaningful consultation with the civil society at large to address good practices of new and innovative laws for gender equality.
I also intend to advocate for the promotion of gender equality, in order to create a relevant national, regional and global partnerships committed to the full empowerment of girls and women.
I commit to taking concrete, thoughtful, and informed action in my community to promote avenues that elevate the socio-economic realities and promote equal opportunities for every woman and girl within my scope of influence.
I acknowledge all International and National protocols, declarations, conventions and policies that have been enacted to tackle the systemic barriers and obstacles faced by women and girls in their everyday lives. I am fully committed to domestication of relevant frameworks and interventions that play a role in the actualization of gender equality and empower all women and girls.
I will continue to support responsive efforts to eliminate gender inequality and discrimination, counter gender biases and stereotypes, promote inclusion and equitable access for girls and women.
