A United, Secure and Prosperous Nigeria that Benefits Every Woman is POssible!
The advancement of women and girls and gender equality cannot be considered as separate or apart from decisions of national security.
There is a strong link between a society’s treatment of women and its overall security and prosperity.
Any society that oppresses half the population will not reach its fullest potential.
Addressing gender equality is essential to chip away at the root of many national security challenges of the 21st century.
A more prosperous society and a more stable world results when women and girls are empowered; have access to services, education, and capital; and are otherwise afforded opportunities to fully participate in their societies.
It is of utmost importance that we position gender equality and the advancement of women and girls as "vital to achieving our overall security, unity and economic growth policy objectives. We need to renew our commitment towards Institutionalizing and integrating women-focused efforts as part of the national security structure to promote human security... To ensure freedom from want and freedom from fear.
